Hand Purifier | Essential Oils

September 18, 2017

Ya know that big box company you find in the mall that has all of the scents in all of the things- candles, lotions, sprays… they used to be my go to for all hand sanitizers. The packaging was cute, they always had fun scents (some of which made me nauseous) and were fairly inexpensive. Then, I learned they were full of junk. Also, I left so many of those little tubes in my car that ended up exploding because of the alcohol in them. Yah, not cool!

Luckily, I found this awesome recipe that is alcohol free and only includes the healthy stuff. Also, it smells amazing and won’t explode in your car. You’re welcome.

DIY Hand Purifier

2oz bottle
1 tsp. witch hazel
10 drops thieves
5 drops tea tree

I totally get the hatred of the strong smell of those other hand sanitizers. Some people are even allergic to them. Yuck!

I get so bummed when I find out what’s really inside most of the store bought stuff. Thanks for this awesome recipe 🙂

You are welcome! It is scary what they can get away with hiding in our products and food 🙁

I love the humour in your post haha. I used to find myself buying those ‘pretty pink creams that smell like strawberries with their cute sparkly bottles’ only to find out they were probably giving me a rash. I never thought about a DIY hand purifier. I love this idea. Thanks for sharing

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that! Doesn’t surprise me with all of the junk they sneak in our products! Glad you got a little laugh 🙂

I cannot stand that smell of hand sanitizers! I never could. This is a great and healthier option I am sure!

I’ve been phasing out nasty chemical ridden products over the last 3 years or so… the one thing that I haven’t found a replacement for yet is hand sanitizer. Love this idea, can I use it in place of my on-the-go sanitizer?
