For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of having a photography studio at home. Not just a space to work — but a space that truly felt like an extension of my brand, where clients could walk in and immediately exhale. A place that said, you’re in good hands. After 14 years in this industry, that dream finally became a reality. And I am so excited to take you inside.
Welcome to the Chrissy Winchester Photography studio tour.
The Studio: Tucked Above the Garage, Right at Home
The studio lives above my garage at my home in Davidson, NC, which means the moment you arrive, the experience already feels different from a traditional commercial studio. There’s no parking garage to navigate, no waiting room with strangers. It’s private, intimate, and calm — exactly the kind of environment I want for every single session.
The exterior sets the tone before you even walk through the door: crisp white siding, a steep pitched roofline, black iron railings, and a warm lantern light above the garage doors. I wanted it to feel elevated but approachable — beautiful but not intimidating. I think we got it right.

Designed with You in Mind
Every single detail inside this studio was thought through with my clients in mind. I designed this space myself — every corner, every furniture choice, every tiny decision.
The palette is all light and airy — white walls, light floors, soft natural light pouring through the windows. It’s clean and calm and bright. That light and airy aesthetic you see in every single one of my photos? It lives here.

The Shooting Space
The main shooting area is open, airy, and flooded with beautiful natural light from the large windows. The sloped ceiling gives the space incredible character and dimension — you’ll actually see it in the background of many of the images we create together.
I keep the space intentionally simple. A round cream swivel chair. A soft rug. Sheer white curtains on a brass rod. That’s really all you need when the light is this good. Simple, clean backdrops let you be the focus — not the props.
For my newborn and baby clients, you’ll also notice the changing station and mini fridge stocked with water and coffee — because when you’re a new mom, those little things matter more than you know. I’ve been there. I get it.

A Gallery Wall That Tells the Full Story
One of my favorite features of the studio is the gallery wall in the shooting space. Four matching champagne-gold frames, arranged in a simple 2×2 grid, each holding a portrait from a different chapter of the same baby’s story — a maternity image, a fresh newborn, sitter session, and one-year milestone.
This is exactly what The Collective Membership looks like on your walls. This is what it means to document the whole journey — not just one moment in time, but all of them together. Every time I look at that wall, it reminds me why I do what I do.

The Design & Ordering Room
In our design area, there’s a French-style settee, a cane-back chair, soft rugs, and gold accents throughout — it feels like stepping into someone’s beautifully curated living room.
On the wall, you’ll notice a display of our custom frame samples — every finish, every style, right there for you to touch and see in person. This is where we’ll sit together at your design appointment and select the pieces that will live on your walls for generations. Seeing these in person makes all the difference. There’s truly nothing like holding a framed print in your hands.
The shelves above hold a few of my most treasured things — including my collection of vintage cameras. They’re nods to the craft and the history of photography, and I love that they add a little character to an otherwise soft and feminine space.

The Wardrobe Closet: One Less Thing to Stress About
I have to talk about the closet, because honestly — it might be the thing clients are most surprised by when they arrive.
Over the years, I’ve built a studio wardrobe that is fully available to every client at no additional cost. We’re talking floor-length gowns in blush, ivory, sage, and dusty blue. Delicate floral dresses. Flowy lace. Silky fabrics. Everything is soft and feminine and perfectly curated to photograph beautifully.
And it doesn’t stop with mom. The second closet is filled with the most beautiful children’s wardrobe — tiny dresses, ruffled rompers, soft linen sets, and the most precious little accessories. I’ve been collecting these pieces for years, one perfect find at a time.
You don’t have to stress about what to wear. You just have to show up. That’s the whole point.

The Studio Gardens
When designing the studio space, I knew I also wanted an outdoor space for clients that was equally as beautiful. So they could come to the studio and get an indoor look and outdoor look, without having to step foot in their car to change the vibe.
Not only do we have the garden pictured above, we also have various other little spaces that photograph beautifully, including a field a tree cove and a tree lined driveway.
Come See It for Yourself
This studio is the backdrop for some of the most meaningful moments I get to witness as a photographer. New families settling in. Babies who were once tiny newborns coming back at six months, sitting up and smiling their biggest smiles. Families who keep showing up, year after year, because they know this is a place where they can just be.
That’s what this space is for. Not just beautiful photos — though we will absolutely make those — but a truly stress-free, guided experience from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave with your portraits on the wall.
If you’re considering a session and you want to come take a peek before you book, I’d love to have you. And if you’re ready to claim your spot, you can reach out through the contact page. I can’t wait to welcome you here!
