Last week’s theme for P52 was “big”. I realized, as I was dressing Ev to go play at the playground, that my little girl was growing fast, right before my eyes. I am still having a hard time believing that I put ACTUAL shoes on her feet. Not her UGG slippers that we adore so much, or her Faas Designs Moccasins that are so adorable, but actual, real, rubber-soled shoes. She looked like a little person, not a baby! 🙁
How does that happen?! I will be completely honest in saying that being a parent is hard, and it seems like she has been in our lives for SO much longer than her short 16 months. I’ve certainly accumulated more grey hairs in those 16 months than I care to admit. But, nothing can replace the Joy that a child brings. Her laughter is infectious, every day is exciting as we watch her learn something new and as she teaches us patience, love and… more patience. Having a child will test your strength and show you your weaknesses; no doubt. But, that doesn’t stop me from being all smiles when I get her up each morning, and even sometimes sneak in and wake her up in the middle of the night, so I can snuggle with her.
Anyway, sorry for the mommy moment! So, I am behind on my P52… that tends to happen to me each year around this time. Spring and Summer arrive and I become consumed with new projects and tasks. I am GOING to finish Project52 this year! Just maybe, instead of a week at a time, I will lump a few together 🙂
Here are the photos from our playground fun. NOTE TO SELF: I need to bring my camera along to capture more everyday moments, like these! ALSO- this is why photographers HATE photographing in the strong afternoon sun- see all of the harsh highlights and shadows. YUCK! Since they’re for my personal use and I’m really just capturing moments though, it’s OK.
