The planning process for sessions always starts with a consult with each client. It’s essential to establish the purpose of the session in the very beginning. As soon as we have a date on the calendar, we plan the “why” before any of the other details of the day!

Understanding the purpose of your session will help us unlock not only where you will use the final images but will help guide us with every aspect of the day from wardrobe to props.

Next, we will decide where we want the session to happen. For some clients, it makes perfect sense to plan our session in the studio. For others, a lifestyle approach is a better fit.

During Julie’s session, we wanted to keep things super classic and update her headshots in the studio. I love how these new portraits turned out for her!

Julie is a realtor and model (with a few film sightings as a backup actress, I might add), so keeping the look clean and professional was the most fitting approach!
